School is often perceived as some sort of dull and unbearable passage that everyone just has to go through in order to get through life. However, despite this, there are things you can actually do to make it more meaningful and less tedious.
Create a social life at school
School does not need to be overly formal. You can make friends while you are attending. Since you are spending a large part of your day with other people, you might as well make the best out of it when it comes to improving your social life. Stay behind a few minutes after the end of a lesson to try to see if someone chats you up or if you see that someone seems open to some quick conversation.
Try to find a group or clique with whom you match with the most. You can find people with common interests that you can converse freely with about topics that interest everybody.
Engage in non-academic activities
This can also help you create a social life by pairing you with people who like doing the same things as you. If you are into music, you can join a glee club or a school band. If you are into sport, there are many sports teams in a school that you can join in to help you feel that you belong.
There are also other clubs that you can take part in that are not necessarily non-academic like a science club, math club, book club, or other subject-related clubs that comprise of people who are extra interested in a certain subject matter. Since you will already be sharing the same interests with these people, chances are you have more of an opportunity to create friendships and bonds that go even beyond your club.
Make school fun and exciting
Sometimes all it takes is something as simple as picking out an outfit for the day. Wear clothes that make you look and feel good. If you are particularly fashion-forward, take this as an opportunity to show off your exemplary taste in fashion.
If you are not so much into fashion, there are other ways to motivate yourself at the start of the day. You can have a feel-good playlist that you can put on every morning while you do your morning routine to make your day a lot happier and more musical. Most importantly, try to get a good breakfast to really kick off your day. It has been proven that a good breakfast can give you the energy to power through your day and keep you energized, even if you are not a morning person yourself.
Stay on top of your school game
Keep track of your workload through a to-do list. Clean up clutter consistently at your workspace and in your school bag as well. Plot a calendar of activities and exams so that you do not get caught off guard on when to study. Keep your things organized and try to label as much as you can.
Staying on top of things gives you a sense of control and a feeling of empowerment, which allows you to take on more tasks confidently. This saves you from a lot of stress and burnout that plenty of students experience later on in their study life.
